Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-12-2017: Solstice

Hmmm …

I’ve just noticed something on the BBC’s news site.

Apparently?

According to this piece, GCHQ’s cyber spies have over-achieved, this years: and are now able to do all sorts of hacking stuff.

And have been lauded for it by MPs.

I keep thinking about General Melchett in Blackadder Goes Forth.

And wondering what any of those MPs will be saying about foreign security officers, behaving the same way.

Yes … the General seems to some it up, well …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring ten out of ten in the process.

The day also saw her and Olga† putting in comment in my Liebster Award post, yesterday.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 21st December, 2017, is the shortest day of 2017.   Where: in the northern or southern hemisphere?
Q2) As a result?   It’s what: the winter or summer solstice?
Q3) In some Christian traditions, the Solstice is marked as what colour of Christmas?
Q4) The City of Brighton marks the solstice by burning … what?
Q5) Finally … ?   Yalda Night is a traditional holiday on the winter solstice.   It’s an old festival, where: Iran, Iraq or Kazakhstan?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a thought …
“At the Summer Solstice, all is green and growing, potential coming into being, the miracle of manifestation painted large on the canvas of awareness. At the Winter Solstice, the wind is cold, trees are bare and all lies in stillness beneath blankets of snow.”
Gary Zukav.
And a Jethro Tull tune …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good Solstice: and don’t fall over in the dark.

*        I have to admit, I feel rather good about that post, Debbi: it took me all evening!   (Moorcock’s definitely worth checking out, I think.   Although I should warn you, he’s even more prolific than Terry Pratchett … )

†        I know what you mean, Olga.   I think I already turned Debbi down, once, many moons ago: due to a lack of time!   And I know what you mean about hanging around for stuff: bloody Amazon!   At ANY rate … ?   I hope the elections go well: and give Catalonia the government it needs.   (I’ve actually just finished the review of the year Teaser: and managed to avoid mentioning Megan Markle.   I might just give an answer away, but … !)

Yes. In my case, I was at the post-office. Not the best place to go this time of the year. It seems that the postman had dropped the care to go and pick up an item, without ever ringing the bell (I was at home) and then had held onto the parcel. They've just phoned me to let me know that it has turned up and I won't have to queue. Fingers crossed! (I'll keep you posted. So far, we won't know much until tonight, although it seems people are voting en masse, so at least they are no longer indifferent.
