Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2nd May, 2025.

2nd May, 2025.

Yesterday … ?

Saw local elections take place in part of the UK: and a parliamentary by-election take place in Runcorn.

Elections that have seen Reform UK do well: they won the Runcorn seats by some six votes*!

I’ll a little disappointed elections didn’t happen here in Brentwood: they’ve been postponed until next year.

I’m disappointed — in part — because my town didn’t get a chance to vote, to have its say.

But also … ?

Because we didn’t get a chance to refuse to vote for a right wing party.

I suspect, though, that had there been an election … Reform would do worryingly well.

Anyone else in charge of Essex would be good!

*        The Official Monster Raving Loony Party fielded Boss Hogg as a candidate.

        Hello, Mum¹!

‡        Oh, that it is, Olga¹!   I’ve also had a quiet word with the person concerned: to calmly explain how I felt about things.   They’ve got their own issues: but, hopefully, that’ll take!
At any rate?   We’ll see you when we catch you!   Say ‘Hello’ to Imam for me!

§        That they do, Debbi¹.

Morning, Irene!   Have you tried turning it off and on, again?

¹        If anyone can drop a few hints Irene’s way, she’d possibly appreciate it!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
