Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 5th May, 2025.
5th May, 2025.
Yay!
It’s Monday morning: a bank holiday Monday morning!
So … ?
There’s no weight management meeting, today.
Which won’t stop me feeling knackered, mind: but I can always have a nap, later!
~≈🛌≈~
You know … the current US president strikes me as a bit of a twit.
And the tariffs he’s imposing?
Are just as silly.
This morning … ?
We’re told he wants to introduce a one hundred percent tariff on movies made outside the US: apparently, movies made outside the US are a threat to the country’s national security.
I’m very aware that — given the amount of movies made in the UK — that this will have a negative impact on UK film studios and producers.
But?
I’m hoping that backfires: as so many US movies — not least the Star Wars and Marvel movies — get filmed in Pinewood.
The president’s not doing his country a favour …

Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?
Q1)5th May is Tango no Sekku. Where: Japan, China or Vietnam?
Q2)5th May marks which language: Portuguese, Swahili or Cantonese?
Q3)5th May is the feast day of Angelus of Jerusalem, the patron saint of Palermo. Palermo is a city on which Mediterranean island?
Q4)5th May is Matyrs Day. Where: Albania, Bangladesh or Canada … ?
Q5)Finally … ? Charles 1st dissolved Parliament on 5th May, 1640. The sitting of Parliament in question was called what: the Long Parliament the Short Parliament or Rump Parliament?
A MacBook Pro! I’m mildly impressed, Debbi, they can be quite whizzy! But they used to only ship them with 256gb of SSD, then charge extra for more‡! Ho … hum … !
‡ I paid £200 extra, Debbi, to take the new Mini up to a one terabyte drive.
Q5) the Short Parliament I'm back! (Sort of). It has been quite long and tiring, but good to see my friend and her family, although it involved a lot of running around to try to keep everything going. I went to watch The Six, the musical about Henry VIII 6 wives, that's briefly visiting Barcelona, and my goddaughter wanted to go and see it, so the three of us (her mother, her, and I) went. It is well made and quite fun. (And in English!) About Trump... Well, somebody was making the comment, in one of the doctors forum, that it is worth revisiting 1984, because much of what is going on seems to follow the same kind of philosophy (well, this is not the ministry of truth, but rather the president of 'truth'), and I guess they have a point.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.

Would you believe I spent some of Star Wars Day watching Doctor Who? :)
Stewart's right. Why does he say, "My name is the Doctor"? No, he IS The Doctor. :)
Nice tune, BTW. :)
