Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15-6-2025 — Internet Explorer

15th July, 2025: Internet Explorer.

It’s Sunday …

And … ?

Lyse Doucet has just bee commenting on the conflict between Iran and Israel.

It’s says something, doesn’t it?

That the BBC’s international correspondent is commenting on a conflict … on a Sunday morning religious programme …

~≈😐≈~

At any rate … ?

It’s Sunday … and I’m planning on going beck to bed.

Why … ?

I’ve managed to finish a review, late.

I just hope the review makes sense!

~≈🎦≈~

There’s a certain amount of irony doing the rounds.

There’s opposition to the current US president: leading to the No Kings protests.

There were a lot, yesterday: including one encountered by Old Peculiar regular, Debbi Mack.

Seeing the phrase ‘No Kings’?

Always gets me thinking of a line from some of Sir Terry Pratchett’s odder characters.
“Nae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master! We willna’ be fooled again!”
The Wee Free Men, Terry Pratchett.
Which potentially means protestors are supposed to paint themselves blue, and steal cows.

Go look up the Feegles, if you get the chance.

At any rate, the irony I mentioned?

Is simply this.

Many in the US were holding ‘No Kings’ protests …

When the Charles 3rd, King of the UK … was attending the Trooping the Colour ceremony, to mark his birthday.

Heigh … ho … !

~≈👑≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Debbi† and Irene‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s technology themed question set, shall we?

Here it is, along with the How To, License and video.

“Various websites have dropped support for Internet Explorer.   On June 1, 2020, the Internet Archive removed Internet Explorer from its list of supported browsers, due to the browser’s dated nature.”
From the Wikipedia entry on the software.
And a commercial …

The next ten question set is on 26th June: it’s about Harry Potter.

Comments and answers will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

Yeah: I’ve reposted that reel, here, Debbi.   And commented on the irony.   Oh, and technically, the protestors are Feels …

I hope you managed a bit of rest. Yes, I did think about the irony there as well.
    Take care.

  3. Isn't that interesting? Ironically, Trump threw a military parade to celebrate his birthday on the same day. :)

    No one came. Really!

Of course, if it weren't for kings, would we even be here? :) Is that irony?

All water under the bridge, right? :)

Hi Paul, enjoyed your review of Sinners but will not be viewing as I'm not keen on scary films. Following our very enjoyable banter yesterday afternoon your mum mentioned Mad Men - all about thex1960s when men wore mohair suits and looked very smart - great memories for us Jim 20 years old and I was sweet 16. Thanks for being a good sport yesterday about our memories of good Old Rock and Roll. Great fun.
Fingers crossed I've got 5 out of 5 today as?Jim is fully involved in his Dinosaur programme so my answers are all mine. Take care, keep smiling

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
