Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 5-6-2025 — Denmark

5th June, 2025: Denmark.

Right …

It’s Thursday.

And … ?

Waking up with an earworm is not something I was planning!

Especially not that earworm: it’s horrible, isn’t it?

~≈🐛≈~

I think I might need a new phone: possibly.

I was switched over to the new Digital voice thing run by my Internet Service Provider.

It means my landline phone is plugged into my new router, rather than the junction box in the wall.

However?

It seems some of the phone’s features — call blocking, number tracking, what have you — don’t work with the router.

Which is a shame.

I got a call from a Technical Department scammer*, yesterday: one of the usual “Hello, we’re from Microsoft: your PC is causing problems!!!!!!!!”

It would’ve been nice to be able to block that … !

~≈📞≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum†, Olga‡,  Irene§ and Debbi¶ putting in their answers: with Olga, Irene and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?

Here it is, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        5th June is Constitution Day in Denmark.   The current Danish constitution was signed in which year of the 1950s?

Q2)        The Constitution is the Constitution of Denmark itself, the Faroe Islands, and where else?

Q3)        Denmark and its constituents parts, are known as the Danish what: Realm, Region or Rhubarb … ?

Q4)        The Constitution names who as the country’s head of state: a monarch, a president or the Cardinal-Deacon of Denmark?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Denmark, proper, is part of the Schengen Area.   The Area allows for what, between members states: a common monetary policy, freedom of movement or cross-border policing?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        TV presenter, Bradley Walsh, was born on 4th June, 1960.   Which characters did he play on Doctor Who: Ryan Sinclair, Yasmin Khan or Graham O’Brien?
A1)        Graham O’Brien.

Q2)        Bradley currently presents what: Blankety Blank, Bullseye or Pointless?
A2)        Blankety Blank.

Q3)        He played Dave Dodds.   In which 2001 film: Mike Bassett: England Manager, The Glow or The Lights?

Q4)        Bradley and his son Barney host the rebooted version of what: Mastermind, Gladiators or Friends?
A4)        Gladiators.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Bradley released Chasing Dreams in 2016.   What is Chasing Dreams: an LP, a novel, or a teatowel?
A5)        An LP.
Here’s a thought …

“The Danish Parliament [ … ] cannot make any laws which may be repugnant or contrary to the Constitutional Act.”
From The Wikipedia entry on the Danish Constitution.

And one of two national anthems …

The next ten question set is on 11th June: it’s about E. T.: The Extraterrestrial

Comments and answers will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I did my usual thing, when the chap called.   Asked him why Microsoft was phoning a Mac owner.   He THEN told me it was due to Microsoft software on my Mac.   I said “What Microsoft software?”.   He put the phone down.
        How rude!

        Hello, Mum!

You mean … having a tea towel launch party, Olga?   Or launching them from catapults?   That could be fun!
BT have been fine for the past few years: bar the old router restarting at bad times!

§        Morning, Irene: how IS the day … ?

¶        It’s a football match, Debbi between the two main teams in Glasgow: we covered it at the end of May.   You’d think a football match would be innocent enough, wouldn’t you?   But, while Derby’s worth a fortune to the Scottish economy, it can get quite nasty.   The Celtic goalie had a bottle thrown at him, in a recent match.

  2. Morning Paul,
Life a bit manic at the moment hence having to pop on and out. However, I have a Plan! I forgot we all need some ME time, as much as we love family and friends - I'm getting back to solo meditation - it works wonders. In addition a good laugh which your earworm caption was a real delight. Hopefully I'll be able to list my answers later.
Keep smiling and keep texting . Thank you xx

Well, tea towels have their uses, although catapults also do... I hope you can sort the issue with the phone. I haven't had a land line for ages.

  5. John Lydon occasionally mentions "football hooligans" in his memoirs. Sounds like they can get pretty nasty. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
