Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th June, 2025.

8th June, 2025.

I think … I’ve had an evening.

Ot night, at any rate.

Quite why, I don’t know: but I had a mild case of the trots.

I think avoiding that brand of chicken Kyiv could an idea … !

~≈💩≈~

Hopefully that will clear up.

But there’s a weird co-incidence,

I heard a piece of news on BBC Radio 4’s news bulletin, this morning.

Apparently, scientists have developed a new method of improving gut health.

By feeding people pills made from human faeces.

Human poo, in other words.

I’m tempted to say they’re welcome to mine.

But that would be bad taste.

Instead … ?

I’ll wonder how popular that move’s going to be … ?

~≈💩≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Irene† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

The day also saw Olga§ leaving us a message: here.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?

Here it is, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Andrew Irvine and George Mallory went missing: on 8th June.   In an attempt to climb what: K2, Mount Everest or the Matterhorn?

Q2)        They went missing in which year of the 1920s?

Q3)        8th June, AD632, saw the death of the Prophet Muhammad.   He’s seen as the founder of which religion … ? (I’m going to be strict about this answers)

Q4)        Neil Baker was born on 8th June, 1960.   He played what: Rugby Union, Rugby League or Rugby Sevens?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Ivo Sanader was born on 8th June, 1953.   He was the 8th Prime Minister of where: Croatia, Slovenia or Slovakia?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        The Japanese Navy saw defeat at the Battle of Midway.   On 7th June of which year of the 1940s?
A1)        1942.

A2)        America’s.

Q3)        The Battle took place in which ocean: the Atlantic or the Pacific?
A3)        The Pacific.

Q4)        The Battle took place at Midway … what: Atoll, Atholl or Isle?
A4)        Midway Atoll.   (Apparently, it’s part of the Hawaiian Archipelago: but not part of the state of Hawaii.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   Who was the Japanese fleet’s leader for the Battle: Admiral Yamamoto, Emperor Hirohito or General Tojo?
A5)        Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.
Here’s a thought …
“Fighting monsters is dead easy.   Just walk away from ’em at a brisk pace and you’re safe.”
Colin Baker, born 8 June 1943.
And a song …

The next ten question set is on 11th June: it’s about E. T.: The Extraterrestrial

Comments and answers will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

I hope you are feeling better now, Paul. My mother felt sick and vomited yesterday midday, before having lunch, but had no diarrhoea (and she didn't go out in the morning, so I have no idea what it was about). She seems OK today.
    Take care.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
