Right … it’s officially officially: daylight is a’comin’ in …
And … ?
It’s Wednesday … !
This time last week, I’d been due to meet my Job Centre case worker: eventually being told that I wouldn’t need to job hunt: and would have to phone in for my next appointment, by the 11th March.
Why?
I don’t know.
But that search, and the associated paperwork, has been a defining thing for me for the past few years.

You’ve possibly realised I’m a Terry Pratchett fan: and deeply saddened by both his death, and the dementia diagnosis that was a contributor to it.
So … ?
The fact the Today programme mentioning the news that his condition may have been visible many years before he was diagnosed?
Grabbed my attention.
I can only hope that this leads to if not a cure: then certainly better treatment, and longer quality of life.

I’m STILL having issues with X/Twitter.
I’m still — seemingly — in Twitter jail: and still can’t talk to a human about it.
I’ve even paid for the basic Premium service: so I can talk to a human about the situation.
That’s going to take another twelve hours.
Frankly, and at the moment … ?
It’s frustrating … !

Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Irene† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring four out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1)Elijah Wood was born on 28th January, 1981. Who did he play in the The Lord of the Rings movies?
Q2)28th January is the feast day of Saint Thomas Aquinas. Saint Thomas was from where: Italy, Spain or France?
Q3)Pride and Prejudice was first published in England: on 28th January, 1813. Who wrote Pride and Prejudice: Jane Austen, Emily Brontë or George Eliot?
Q4)28th January is the International Day of Peace Co-existence. According to whom: the UN, the EU or the WHO?
Q5)Finally … ? 28th January, 2021, saw the death of Cicely Tyson. She played Binta in which 1977 mini-series?
Q5)Finally … ? Actress, Bridget Fonda, was born on 27th January, 1964. Her 1993 film, Point of No Return, was called what, internationally: The Assassin, Killer or La Femme Nikita?
A5)The Assassin. (It’s based on a Luc Besson film called La Femme Nikita: or just Nikita in its native France: the Besson film stars Anne Parillaud as the titular assassin, not Bridget Fonda.)
Here’s a thought …
“Izzy wizzy, let’s get busy”.
Catchphrase of puppeteer, Harry Corbett, 28 January 1918 – 17 August 1989.
And an Acker Bilk tune …
The next ten question set is on 4th February: it’s about the Aldous Huxley novel, Brave New World.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’sTeaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum§¶! (Point of No Return was called The Assassin, internationally, Mum — La Femme Nikita was the original French version, and didn’t star Fonda!)
† Morning, Irene§¶: how IS the day … ? (Point of No Return was calledThe Assassin, outside the US, Irene —La Femme Nikita was the original French version.)
‡ I’m still having issues, Debbi§¶: it’s getting ridiculous! Now, about Bridget Fonda … … … …
§ Here’s the trailer for the French original: and yes, Debbi, it IS a lot better than the US version!
¶ I’m going to tag people on Facebook, for the moment: it’s handy for that!
Q5) Roots Thanks, Paul. I'm not sure it is worth tagging me on Facebook, because in some cases I get the notifications several days after they are posted, and usually I get random notifications of people I follow but have no real contact with, especially when they send them to lots of people. I have no idea what goes on there either. I only keep it because I connect with some people through their messenger, otherwise... I have NikNak's bookmarked, so when I have enough time I go there directly, although tomorrow and Friday morning I probably won't have the time. We're having some plumbing issues...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
