Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th January 2026.

30th January, 2026: Gosh!

It’s officially official: I’ve had today’s dose of Mounjaro, the drug that helps me lose weight, and control my diabetes.

And … ?

I think it’s working better than it has for the past few weeks: I seem to be getting the jitters it used to provide.

Heigh … ho … !

~≈¥≈~

The situation with X/Twitter is getting ridiculous.

I’ve signed up for the Basic Premium service: in the belief it will let me access support from a human customer services agent.

Or, at least, message the @Premium account with a direct message.

Nope!

Despite having an active account …

I’m told I have to get Verified to message them.

I’m going to paraphrase John Lyndon, here: I get the feeling I’ve been cheated …

~≈❌≈~

Just as a brief note … ?

It seems Microsoft has issues: as updates to Windows 11 have been preventing  PCs — commercial ones in particular — to not shutdown when switched off.

And machines that have had a update applied to prevent this, are having issues starting up.

Normally?

I’d be telling people to get a Mac: except I know current versions of the operating system seem to be having issues.

So that’s possibly some to be cautious about.

Given all that … ?

I’m going to make a guess: a lot of companies will be buying Chromebooks …

~≈💤≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Debbi† and Irene‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

The next ten question set is on 4th February: it’s about the Aldous Huxley novel, Brave New World.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

†        That he can, Debbi: I’m told he’s fantastic in Brimstone and Treacle.   I’ll have to catch that, one day.

Morning, Irene: well done for getting five out of five, yesterday!

Hi, Paul! I've never looked into the different options for X, because I decided a while back not to pay for any of those things. I did have my own blog and paid for it for a while, rather than the free option, but eventually I gave up on that. It sounds as if the customer service is terrible (although having been suspended on Twitter years back, it wasn't good there either, but in your case it makes no sense, as you don't do spam). I hope it works itself out, although, as I said, if I have a chance, I try to visit the teaser directly, but I do miss the daily hello, that is true.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
