A few days after my birthday.

Which means I’ll be having dinner with my family: hopefully, the chip shop’s cod will be on form!

The Kursaal, over in Southend, is a noted amusement park: there’s even a band named after the place.

The place has have troubles for years: as funding issues have meant it’s been repeatedly opened and shut for years.

So … ?

The fact it’s reopening, after issues with the lease, is nice to hear.

I’d been a few times, when I was younger: it’d be nice to re-visit.

*        Hello, Mum!   (t was the SAS, Mum, not the UVF.   There was a big fuss about it at the time.)

†        Sounds like you have issues with those apps, Olga: I know what you mean about iffy changes to software, so I’m sympathetic.   (I’m convince some of the issues I’m having — with the Final Cut editor — is dues to changes made in how operating system indexes things.)

        I’ll keep my fingers crossed the event goes well: but I’m very aware science fiction can do well, when real scientists write it.   Asimov was a biochemist, as I recall: and Arthur C. Clarke§ did a lot of work geostationary satellites.   An AI researcher working on an SF film festival would be following an old tradition!
