Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 9th March 2026
9th March, 2026.
Right …
I think I’ve sorted out an issue: where my browser was refusing to upload videos to a given blog post.
The little I could find online told me that I needed to clear my browser’s caches and cookies.
So … ?
I’ve uploaded a second version: in case the first doesn’t work.
~≈📺≈~
I’ve also got to admit: I did a little tweaking with that video.
At about the fourteen to seventeen seconds mark, I’ve managed to use some phone footage: but, as my phone can’t record with a green background, I’ve had to use Final Cut Pro’s Magnetic Mask to remove the background.
After finally realising that I had to press the ‘Done’ button to get the thing working …
Which means … not a lot, right now.
But if I ever get a better quality camera, one that can’t be connect to QuickTime, I can possibly do all sorts of stuff.
Once I’ve learnt how to turn down the volume …

As a last thought … ?
My family treated me to a takeaway fish supper, yesterday: from what has to be Brentwood’s best.
About my only problem, one I’ve had with cod and chips from other places … ?
Is that I’ve ended up with a case of the farts.
What’s happening there … ?
I don’t know … !

Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q4)Raymonde de Laroche received her pilot’s license on 8th March, 1910: becoming the first woman to do so in the process. What nationality was she: French, German or Russian?
“You can figure things out as quickly as I can, but you haven’t got the ways and means of doing the dirty work. That’s where I come in.”
From I, The Jury, by Mickey Spillane, March 9, 1918 – July 17, 2006.
And an Lloyd Price song …
The next ten-question set is on 25th March: it’s about Greece.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’sTeaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum. (Thanks for dinner, yesterday!)
† Oh, my lord! Olga, they had the posters for Barbarella, and 2001 … ! Barbarella was possibly the campiest SF film ever made: and 2001 still looks superb, after — what — sixty odd years? It’s still the proverbial ‘good science fiction movie’.
‡ OK, which Holmes are we talking about, Debbi: Sherlock or Robert … ?
Q5) 2023 Oh, yes, both were fabulous. And they had one from Escape From New York signed by John Carpenter. They didn't have a lot of posters but they were all fabulous.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
Just as a last point … ?

I saw Barbarella many years ago. Very, very campy. At the time, it seemed less exploitative than cartoonish to me. :)
