The Daily Teaser — 14-4-2013: Heavy Traffic … !

Hmmm …

Right, I have to ask: exactly how much is being spent on Margaret Thatcher’s funeral … ?

I’m willing to bet it’s a lot: and have to ask is spending public money on the woman appropriate, at a time of swinging cuts … ?

Well … the funeral … and the policing costs.

I’m just also thankful former US president, George W. Bush has declined to come: the man was just as contentious — at least, here in the UK — and would only add to the policing cost.

Hmmm …

Let’s move on, shall we … ?

~~≈≈~~

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: along with bagging 6 out of 6, she also admitted yesterday’s subject matter — the CIA’s MKULTRA project — could give one food for thought.

Let’s see how she — and you — do with today’s Picture questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the ‘How To’, license and rather short video …

Picture/Question 1

Picture/Question 2

Picture/Question 3

Picture/Question 4

Picture/Question 5
Q1) What’s does this sign mean?
Q2) This arrow … ?
Q3) This one: with the cars on?
Q4) This ‘P’ … ?
Q5) Finally … the cow … ?
And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 13th April, 1953, saw the CIA launch its notorious mind control programme: how was that programme known … ?
A1) Project MKULTRA.
Q2) More to the point, what does CIA stand for … ?
A2) Central Intelligence Agency.
Q3) Who was the CIA Director that authorized the project … ?
A3) Alan Dulles.
Q4) Which hallucinogenic drug was used during the project … ?
A4) Lysergic acid diethylamide: also known as LSD.
Q5) Which author — and former Stanford student — was a volunteer for the project … ?
A5) Ken Kesey.
Q6) And finally … in which year was the project supposed to have finished … ?
A6) 1973.
Enjoy those.   I’ll leave you with this opening line from the UK’s Highway Code: the fact it was first published on 14th April, 1931 is what inspired today’s questions …
“It is hoped the code of conduct now issued in accordance with the direction contained in the act may come to be universally respected and obeyed.”
From the opening page of the 1931 edition of the UK’s The Highway Code.
And with the choral — CHORALº … ! — version of the codeªº …

*        Your right there, Debbi: I’ve also a feeling that the UK government has a few things up it s sleeve.   Things like the hidden bunker, near me, are probably the least of it.

ª        They did a weather forecast …

º        Well, it put a smile on MY face… !

  1. That weather report sounds like Maryland. If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes. It'll change. :)

    1. no right turn
    2. change lanes to the left
    3. no overtaking (or passing, I assume)
    4. parking
    5. cows or farm animals ahead - slow down

I ordered some Marmite today! :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
