America the Brave

I’ll confess that I –along with many other’s, no doubt– am usually very cynical about politics.   Still am, to be frank.   After all, a politician is a politician, and –at least to my uneducated eyes– always asking us for power.

Granted, that’s what democracy’s about.   And a better option than violent revolution, which the world has seen many times, and cruel absolute monarchies, or dictatorships, which we’ve also seen a horde of.

But …

Enough, already!

President-Elect Barack Obama is a politician, and one with a hellishly good ability to speak in public –which should be obvious by now,if you look at his victory speech, linked into the title, above– but I can’t help but think is, if not a good choice by the people of the USA, then certainly one that promises an interesting, and hopefully beneficial,  four years ahead of us.   And certainly a brave one, given the USA’s many known racial, religious, and other divides.

Let’s see what’s out there.

  1. Seems President-Elect Obama is a West Ham fan. Quite what that’ll mean …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
