Rollason Way’s Parking Saga …

Hmmm.   Well, here’s hoping!!

Just in case you didn’t know, my road’s had it’s ups and downs, since construction was finished, and people started moving in.   As far as I could tell, I, Lynn, Claire, Debs, and Paul, on the top floor, were some of the first to move in.

And the parking’s been a pain, since we all moved in …

The mildly annouying thing for me, as I’m working, tonight, is that I can’t get to the planned meeting about it.   Which is a pain, to be frank.   But hopefully everyone that does go will be able to let me know what happens.

At any rate, here’s the letter I fired off to the Gazette about it.

I’m writing after going through the paper, today, and must applaud Councillor Kendall’s point about Sunday Bus services in Brentwood.   While I usually find I don’t need it as often as I did, I do know that the 565 — that I relied on to get to work, when I was working at the Boar’s Head, and went by the estates he mentioned — didn’t run on a Sunday.   I also know that, for many of the outlying areas of the borough, both buses — and, as importantly — bus timetables, are, or were, hard things to come by.

Speaking as a non-driver, I kind of like the idea of knowing when the bus I need to get is due turn up.   Lets face it, who wouldn’t?

And, while I’m on the subject, I do know that tonight sees hopefully as many of the resident‘s of Rollason Way as possible will be going to the planned meeting our street’s parking.   I know that Councillor Holmes has offered to go along, and that Councillor Chilvers has expressed an interest but I’m still not sure if Councillor Sheehan, our ward’s other Councillor will be going.   I hope she does.   I also hope my streets parking problems can be resolved in our favour.   I’d rather not see commuters park opposite my flat.”.

I’m just hoping people will leave comments about it …

But, at any rate, I do know that both Councillor Chilvers and Sheehan are definitely going; - they’ve just emailed me to say so.

It’s 7pm, at the Kings Chase Bowls Club, by the way.   I can’t believe I almost forgot to mention that bit.  In the mean time, enjoy the music.

  1. Dear Paul,
This evening's meeting was well attended and we think a good starting block. Joan and I had met with Circle Anglia at Rollason Way previously and arranged the meeting with a view to finding a solution to the parking problems. We do thank Circle Anglia for the options they have put forward and we also have a couple of other avenues to explore and we shall report back when we have more information. It was really good to get together and meet so many residents and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
    Best wishes, Karen Sheehan

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
