About a friend’s Ubuntu

Well, that worked!!

I’ve had a friend, Denny, in a bit of a spot of bother, as — with the recent thunderstorms — his Windoze based PC gave out …

You can imagine my initial response, can’t you … ?

And, playing fair, both he and Faye, his partner, are giving some serious thought to getting a Mini.

But something I did manage to download a copy of the Ubuntu install disc for him, and — from what I’m getting back — it seems to be doing rather well.

All to the good!

As soon as I hear more from Denny, I’ll let you know.

One thing I do know, is that I’m listening Monday night’s edition of BBC Radio 4’s “I’m Sorry, I Haven’t A Clue”.

It’s still funny, with Stephen Fry at the helm.

Hysterically funny.

But, my gods, I miss Humph … !

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
