There IS an Alternative; Two of them, at least … !!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.

why, why, why, why, why and why?????
ReplyDeletewindoze 7...... never heard of it dont want to here about dont need it!!!
pj i understand people like your good self who want that little bit extra from a pc, which is why u pay the extra for a mac.....
then there are people like me ( lets call them the timz )
all i want from a computer is to switch it on, go on facebook, send a few emails have a chat and let the kids do homework.
with this in mind why pay extra for a new version of windoze when as you no i now use umpefump which is easier to use, cheaper (free to be exact) and as you said the new one (karmic koala) is out next week and its FREE.
windoze users are mainly like me just general people that use them in there daily lifes. when installing umpefump with you i noticed the TRY BEFORE YOU INSTALL option....
i erge all windoze users TRY it u might like it.

Hmmm … didn’t know that one, Trevor; but at least there’s a work-around.
ReplyDeleteAnd it does show the importance of a backup, whether through Time Machine, or otherwise.
Which I tend to use once a week, as well as having copies of all my important files — iTunes and iPhoto libraries, AND the quizzes — on an exterior drive.
And, Tim, it looks like Dell and Canonical, who make Ubuntu, are working on a version a touch more aimed at anyone who does use a laptop for exactly that, called Mobil
Oh, and if you wanna help, there}s a handy beginner’s guide to Ubuntu, here …
That’s a thought, point Dave at that last one!!
ReplyDeleteWowsa!
ReplyDeleteI've actually got to admit, bar the faulty sound-card, this laptop of kevin's is rather zippy!
