The Daily Teaser …

Hmm …

Well, THAT seemed to work …

Actually, I don’t know if putting yesterday’s teaser, but I know I enjoyed making it … !

At any rate, I know I had everybody bar Andy putting in their answers, yesterday. Saying that, I’m going to grant the point to everyone on Q1: I think my sources have made a date mix up, on that one.

In any case, yesterday’s Teaser saw Simon getting the official First-In-Clap, and he, Tim, Trevor and Jan, all get four out of five: with Andrea actually winning, with five out of five.

I’ll be double checking it with Dan, Trevor, but from what I can see, Apple didn’t introduce the mouse, until the introduction of the Macintosh, a few months later …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Shall we?

Yes, let’s …

Here’s today’s questions, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) Since 1933, 20th January has seen who formally sworn into office?

Q2) More to the point, 20th January, 1961, saw who sworn in as the youngest holder of that office?

Q3) While we’re talking about this particular office, 20th January, 1981, saw the release of hostages in which Middle-Eastern country?

Q4) More to the point, those hostages were released, twenty minutes after who was sworn into that office?

Q5) 19th January, 1987, saw which Envoy, kidnapped by Lebanese terrorists, whilst conducting hostage negotiations?

Q6) Almost a century earlier, 19th January, 1892, saw the first game of what played at the Springfield, Massachusetts brach of the YMCA.

Q7) 20th January, 1356, saw who abdicate as King of the Scots?

Q8) 20th January, 1936, saw who become King of Great Britain?

Q9) 20th January, 2002, saw pictures published — to public outrage — of prisoners being held, where?

Q10) And finally … January 20th, saw the Chinese News Service announce restrictions on use of the Internet: what nickname do these restrictions have?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Which US public holiday falls on January 19th, this year?

A1) Martin Luthor King Day. (Usually, this falls on the third Monday in January: the 19th, this year.)

Q2) More to the point, in which year did all 50 US states celebrate this holiday?

A2) 2000.

Q3) 19th January, 1977, saw the only recorded fall of snow in which East Coast US city?

A3) Miami.

Q4) 19th January, 2006, saw NASA launch the New Horizon’s probe: to which planet is this probe headed?

A4) Pluto.

Q5) And finally … 19th January, 1983, saw Apple, Inc, introduce the LISA: this was the first computer to use a what?

A5) A GUI, or Graphical User Interface.

Enjoy those, everyone, I’ll catch you later … !

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
