Just as a thought …

You know, it’s not often I get political.

Well …

Not THAT often …

Says I, smiling, slightly … !

But I had an email — from an old friend — about a mental health charity called Rethink.

Now, I don’t know if you’re thinking that’s possibly a strange thing to mention.

Possibly it is, possibly it isn’t.

I’m more inclined to the latter.

Especially when you consider that something like one in four of us will suffer some sort of mental illness at some point in our lives.

I think I’m gonna follow Terry Pratchett’s example, here, and name a personal demon. In the belief he has a point, lifted straight from the ancient pagan belief that naming a demon gives you power over it.

I’ll be straight-forward and tell you I’ve suffered with mild depression — on and off — for some years now.

Usually, so long as I keep taking the tablets — a very low dose of Fluoxetine — I can function perfectly well, thank you!

So when I got the email about Rethink’s campaign to spread awareness of that simple 1 in 4 statistic to both sitting MP’s, and Parliamentary candidates, I signed the petition, and forwarded it on.

And then thought I’d best put it on here.

Feel free to click on the link, folks: one of that one in four could be you, at some point.

Now, I’m gonna be honest, here, as well, both Movie Night Adrian and I were — sort of — busy, tonight, which is why we’re not having one of our usual Saturday Night Movie Nights, tonight.

Adrian, bless him, has to go to his nephew’s twenty-first, and I’ve got to get an early night, as I’m going to be helping Allison move into her new rooms.

Long day, tomorrow!!!!!!

But I do know that I managed to catch a little something, on BBC1, earlier …

Which — if Wikipedia’s right — means series 5 of Dr Who will be aired around the 4th April …

Comments, anybody … ?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
