The End Of The G3 iMac Story

Blimey, nowthere’s a thing … !

Do you remember that, over the past few year’s, I’ve done a bit of tweaking to an old G3 iMac that I’ve had sitting around … ?

Including, I should add, managing to put a copy of Xubuntu 6•06, Dapper Drake on it: I’d no access to a more recent version of OS X to put on there, as much as anything else …

At any rate, I’ve managed to find a buyer who’s interested in taking it off my hands: and has a copy of a newer version of Mac OS to put on it.

The upside … Is that I’m keeping the old keyboard that came with it.

Actually, that’s kind of nice.

Bar a dodgy ‘c’ key, that keyboard still works.

It even manages to play rather nicely with my Mac Mini, and happily deals with a 4 gigabyte flash memory drive, in the USB port, at the opposite end of the keyboard to the mouse.

And the Power button on the blessed thing still — under OS X 10•6•7 — activates the shut-down menu.

Happy days … !

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
