Apollo 18 is the 2011 release from director, Gonzalo López-Gallego.
Set in 1974*, the film sees three astronaut sent on the hither-too cancelled Apollo 18 mission. A mission that’s now being carried out under the auspices of the US Department of Defence, rather than NASA, so that the astronauts can place scanning devices to monitor Soviet ICBMs.

I’m not sure that I should … !
I DO know that it’s managed to bag itself one of the worst ratings I think I’ve ever managed to hand out: and the same from Kevin as well.
Kevin finding the various research misfires — like the way the astronauts DIDN’T walk accurately on the moon, even given the films budget — way too distracting to allow him to suspend his disbelief, and I finding the fact Kevin can be entertainingly passionate about films that are annoying him to be possibly the ONLY entertaining thing about it.
Actually … ? If you ever DO met Kevin D, feel free to ask him about Apollo 18, but bear in mind, he’s going to get a touch … um … yeah, that’s the word … !
