You know, there’s something of a recession on.
Or, at least, there’s a lot of countries — Britain included — that are feeling various degrees of economic pinch.
Famously, that includes Greece.
I’ll be frank, I’ve got Radio 4’s
Today programme on: who’ve just told us that the Greek state broadcaster — the
Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, or
ERT, the Greek equivalent to the BBC — has been switched off.
No, literally: switched off.
As a result of the country’s economic problems.
What CAN I tell you? Except I’m glad I live in the UK: I like the Beeb, and would rather it wasn’t turned off.
I’d miss Radio 4, for a start … !

And a (mild) complaint from actor, Patrick Stewart.
“Last Wednesday, I stupidly dropped my iPhone in the bath, and my life has sort of spiraled almost out of control.”
Patrick Stewart.
Have a good day … !
* I don’t know about their native Oz, Debbi: but it seems a shame that was their UK hit. Same with
