The Daily Teaser — 7-2-2014: Meet The Beatles

Have you ever read The Kraken Wakes, by John Wyndham … ?

The story tells of an alien invasion of Earth: by creatures that live on a gas giant, somewhat similar to Jupiter.   Which means they invade Earth’s deepest oceans: and, in order to expand their territory, they promote  LOTS of global warming, to make the oceans rise.

I can’t help but look out of my window, right now.

It’s raining.

And given the flooding we’re getting in parts of the UK … ?   I can’t help but wonder if Mr Wyndham had spotted something the rest of us haven’t …

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and bagging four out of five.

Let’s see how she — and you — do with today’s Teaser, shall we?   Here it is, along with the How ToLicense and video

Q5) What was the band’s first UK Top Forty hit?

Q10) Finally … what was the last album the band released, not long after they broke up in 1970?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q5) Finally … 6th February, 1914, saw a pro-monarchy peasant uprising: in which Scandinavian country … ?
A5) Sweden.
I’ll leave you with this thought from the Fifth Beatle …
“I was immediately struck by their music, their beat, and their sense of humour on stage – and, even afterwards, when I met them, I was struck again by their personal charm. And it was there that, really, it all started”
Brian Epstein, Beatles manager.
And this song …

Have a good day.

*        That’s me not explaining meself, well enough, isn’t it Debbi?!‽?   I was talking about the gold nugget I mentioned in the 5th Feb’s Teaser: it was about 11 and a half stone.   161lbs!   72kilograms!   About the same weight as a healthy fourteen year old!   I would love to find a gold nugget like that … !

    6. Oh gosh, I never consider these repackaged US albums. They're a complete perversion of the artist's original intention. I find their Rolling Stones albums are unlistentoable.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
