The Daily Teaser — 11-10-2014

Right …

I think we can certainly say it’s a Saturday!

Which means I personally, will be looking forward to tonight’s episode of Dr Who.

It has to be said: it’s looking rather good.

I’ve just got the one question: who pine Earth is Foxes?

And can I get her version of Don’t Stop Me Now on iTunes?

I have no idea!

But I’ll probably end up having a look … !

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi† and newcomer, Michelle*, putting in their answers: with both bagging eight out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 11th october, 1929, saw the opening of the first JC Penney store, in the US.   What does the J stand for?
Q2) 11th October, 2001, saw which camera company apply for bankruptcy?
Q3) 11th October, 1967, saw The Move apologize to Britain’s then Prime Minister: after publishing a scurrilous cartoon  of him to publicize a new single.   What was the song?
Q4) More to the point, who was the PM … ?
Q5) 11th October, 1968, saw NASA launch it’s first manned Apollo mission.   Which Apollo mission was it?
Q6) Finally … 11th October is the Catholic feast day of which late Pope: John 23rd, Paul 6th or John Paul 1st?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A7) His Black Dog.   (Sources differ as to whether he did suffer with Depression: some say he suffered with with Bipolarity … )

Q9) More to the point, which famously naked TV chef has ALSO been diagnosed with the condition?
Q10) And finally … Gary Numan, the singer behind Cars, and Are Friends Electric, suffers from what?
I’ll leave you with this tune

And this thought …
“After 58 years you’d think writing would get easier. It doesn’t. If you’re lucky, you become harder to please. That’s all right, it’s still a pleasure.”
Elmore Leonard, October 11, 1925 – August 20, 2013.
Have a good day … !

*        Welcome aboard, Michelle — and well done: as Debbi will tell you eight out of ten’s a respectable score.

†        I don’t know if you can pick those videos up, Debbi: but it seems they’ve a singer on the train —  played by real-world jazz-singer, Foxes —doing a version of Don’t Stop Me Now.   Sounds good!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
