The Daily Teaser — 4-12-2014

Well, THAT boosted my confidence … !

You know, I’ve been working, don’t you … ?   At my local KFC restaurant.

And last night … ?   Last night was a nice, busy evening: with a damn fine bunch of workers, and plenty of incoming customers.

One of whom quietly asked me if I could drive.

I could only politely say that I didn’t.

To which SHE replied, “That’s a shame, I’d’ve given you a job,” … !

OK, I didn’t get a job that needed me to drive.   OK, I didn’t get the chance to ask what sort of job she was offering, and shed tottered off with her bargain bucket, before I got the chance to give her my number and say “Phone me, if you’ve got anything else.”

But, LORDY, that did my confidence some good!

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s questions saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 4th December, 1791, saw the publication of the world’s oldest Sunday newspaper.   Which British paper are we talking about?
Q2) 4th December, 1998, saw the launch of what’s called the Unity module.   The module is part of what?

Q4) 4th December, 1975, saw Suriname join the United Nations.   Suriname is on which continent: North America, South America or Africa?
Q5) Finally … 4th December, 1954, saw the first Burger King open.   Its signature dish, the Whopper, is what: a kebab, a curry or a burger?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 3rd December, 1904, saw the discovery of the moon, Himalia.   Himalia is a moon of which planet: Jupiter, Saturn or Uranus?

I’ll leave you with this song: from THE Million Dollar Quartet …

And this thought …
“A man’s honest, earnest opinion is the most precious of all he possesses: let him communicate this, if he is to communicate anything.”
Thomas Carlyle, 4 December 1795 – 5 February 1881.
Have a good day.

*        Glad I put a smile on your face, Debbi!   (Oh, brew, Debbi, did I tell you today ISN’T the first time I’ve mentioned the Million Dollar Quartet … ?)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
