You’ve possibly realised I’ve been getting through all sorts of TV box sets.
In an attempt to rebuild the collection I lost, when the external drive I had with my media on, got knocked over.
Well …
I’ve manage to finish binge watching the box set I had, of Blake’s 7.
Just in case you’d not seen it? Blake’s 7 was something of a hit series from the late 1970s/early 1980s: following the story of a small group of characters, fighting against a Federation that resembled Nazi Germany’s.
And best remembered for both its gloomy tone, its tendency to kill main characters, if needed, AND for the fact the title character, Roj Blake — played by Gareth Thomas — left at the end of series two…
It’s ALSO remembered for a series climax that — for it’s time — was shocking: in seeing ALL the main characters killed: after Blake was shot by Avon — Paul Darrow — the other main character.
Frankly … ?
I know of nothing else like it, with the possible exceptions of The Prisoner.
You … ?
Make of it what you will …

But let’s get moving on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Olga scoring 6 out of six and Debbi scoring four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1)6th August, 1787, saw the US Constitutional Convention, in Philadelphia, accept delivery: of proof copies of what?
Q2)6th August, 1963, saw the birth of notorious computer hacker, Kevin Mitnick. In which year of the 1970s did first gain illegal access to a computer system?
Q3)6th August, 1961, saw a Soviet Union astronaut spend a day in space. Who was he: Yuri Gagarin, Andriyan Nikolayev or Gherman Titov?
Q4)Which South American country claim its independence from Spain: on the 6th August, 1825?
Q5)Finally … 6th August, 1930, saw the disappearance of Judge John Crater: who vanished, after getting into a taxi in which US city?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1)5th August, 1962, saw Nelson Mandela jailed: for crime against the regime then running which country?
Q3)5th August, 1884, saw the cornerstone laid, for the Statue of Liberty: on what’s now called Liberty Island. What was the island’s original name: Bedloe’s Island, Brown’s Island or Bastard’s Island?
Q4)5th August, 1925, saw the founding of Plaid Cymru: the Welsh Nationalists, in other words. What did the party originally want to promote: Welsh independence, the Welsh language or lava bread?
Pt III, stanza 5, The Lady Of Shalott, by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 6 August 1809 – 6 October 1892.
And this tune …
Have a good day …
* Have a good trip, Olga: I hope it goes well for you … !
† I sure she will, Debbi. (Oh … Did I mention Blake’s 7? The clip, above, is literally, the last thing we see of the characters: as with The Prisoner, people haven’t stopped talking about it, since it aired all those years ago … )
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Looks like a fascinating show! :)
