The Daily Teaser — 29-9-2015

Right …

That’s THAT here … !

Did I mention I ordered a new monitor for my computer set-up?   At least, a refurbished one?

It turned up, yesterday.

All good: although I’m willing to bet it turned up, five minutes after I walked out of my front door, to head to Brentwood High Street.

At any rate, it’s here.

Complete with box, TONS of bubble wrap, a VGA cable, and the power cord.

Which is all good.

One thing about this particular monitor, though?   Is that, on top of the VGA port — the video connection, in other words — the monitor in question has a DVI port.   Which, frankly, is a better fit for my Mac Pro.

All I’m waiting for, now … ?

Is a DVI cable.

Wouldn’t you know it … ?

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 29th September, 1991, saw a coup take place: in which Caribbean nation?
Q2) 29th September is International Coffee Day.   Name either of the two   commercially popular beans?
Q3) 29th September is also the Feast of Saint Michael: who’s one of four archangels.   Name one of the other archangels.
Q4) 29th September, 1996, saw the US release of the Nintendo 64 games console.   It was named the Nintendo 64, as it had what: a 64 bit processor or 64 gigabytes of RAM or a 64 speed gearbox?
Q5) Finally … 29th September, 1979, saw Pope John Paul 2nd become the first pope to visit where?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 28th September, 1867, saw Toronto named as the capital city of its particular Canadian province.   What province is that?
A1) Ontario.
Q2) 28th September is World Rabies Day.   Rabies is a viral disease that inflames what: the stomach, brain or lungs?
A2) Brain.
Q3) 28th September, 1963, saw the debut of Whaam!: possibly the most famous piece of pop art by whom?
Q4) 28th September, 1952, saw the birth of actress, Sylvia Kristel.   Famously — or possibly notoriously — she appeared in which film?
Q5) Finally … 28th September, 1985, saw riots break out where: Brixton, Tottenham or Shoreditch?
A5) Brixton.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“Before this time to-morrow I shall have gained a peerage, or Westminster Abbey.”

Horatio Nelson, 29 September 1758 – 21 October 1805.
And this tune …

Enjoy your day …

*        Sad is possibly understating it, Debbi.   At least, I think so.   I do know I’m going to treasure the experience of having read his work.   (You’ve got quite a bit to come, Debbi: including Nightwatch and Nation, possibly his best work … )

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
