The Daily Teaser — 4-2-2016

Right …

I’ve got time off, today.

Frankly, where shifts are short, at the slower end of the year.

It’s all good: I’m using some of my excess holiday time to make up the proverbial hours.

At least at least, that way, I get to work on the Friday Question Set: AND more stuff for the Gazette.

If I’m REALLY lucky … ?

I might just get out of the house, long enough to give my shoes an airing …

~≈Â≈~

But let’s get moving on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1) 4th February saw the founding of Facebook: in which year of the 21st Century?
Q2) The site was founded by a group of college room-mates, from which American University: Yale, Harvard or UCLA?
Q3) The founders included Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes and Facebook’s current CEO.   Who IS the CEO?
Q4) What was Facebook originally called?
Q5) Facebook was initially for students.   In which year did it open for the general public: 2005, 2006 or 2007?
Q6) Amongst many things, you can do what to your Facebook friends: peel them, poke them or slap them?
Q7) What does Facebook have: a ‘Like’ button, a ‘Follow’ feature or a ‘Places’ feature?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 3rd February, 1995, saw Eileen Collins become the first female pilot of what: Concorde, the Space Shuttle or Air Force One?

A4) The Palestinian Liberation Organization: or PLO.
Q5) Finally … The USA severed diplomatic contact with Germany: on 3rd February, 1917.   After Germany declared its unrestrained use of what: mustard gas, land-mines or submarines?
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“I have one friend whose Facebook updates are exclusively complaining about Facebook.”
Paul F. Tompkins.
And this song …

Have a good day …

*        I hope that didn’t last long, Olga!   If it’s any help, BT are saying that some of us “… may need to reboot their equipment”.   I’m thankful I didn’t need to do that, with my router: I can never remember which button resets it … !

†        There’s other doing the rounds, Debbi.   There’s one that says Keith Moon and John Entwhistle were chatting to a mutual friend, about potential band names: when one of the pair commented that a particular suggestion had gone down like a lead balloon.   The friend in question was Jimmy Page … … …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
