The Daily Teaser — 1-3-2016: Saint David’s Day

Oh, blimey …

My rent’s gone up … !

I would love to be in a position to own my flat: I really would.

But that’s not going to happen unless I win the lottery!

At any rate: I rent.   And with the help I get … ?   It’s at an affordable price.

Yesterday … ?

I got the letter that told me how my my rent’s going up by, from my landlords.

I have To take that, and my last six payslips, into the council: so they can suitably adjust my housing benefits.

Even though my rent’s only actually gone up …

By tuppence … !

~≈Ÿ≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting her answers: scoring ten out of ten in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s themed questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 1st March is Saint David’s Day.   Saint David is the patron saint of which country of the UK?
Q2) He’s also the patron saint of Naas.   Naas is the county town — capital, as it were — of County Kildare.   Town and county are where?
Q3) Saint David is the patron saint of Pembrokeshire: one of the biggest counties in its country of the UK.   What’s the administrative centre of Pembrokeshire?
Q4) Saint David is said to have founded churches in his native country: and in what’s now Devon and Cornwall.  He’s also said to have founded churches, where: Brittany, Catalonia or the Isle of Mann?
Q5) Finally … name one of the two colours featured on the flag of Saint David.
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q6) Moving on … 29th February, 1984, saw Pierre Trudeau resign as PM of Canada.   His son has recently been elected to the post.   What’s his name?
Q7) 29th February, 2012, saw the Raspberry Pi first go on sale.   What is the Raspberry Pi: a smart TV, a computer or a washing machine?
A7) A computer.   (It’s one of the smallest computers currently being made: and aimed at the educational market.   It’s also Britain’s most successful computer.)
Q8) 29th February, 1940, saw Hattie McDaniels win an Best Supporting Actress Oscar: the first African American to do so.   Her award was for her part in which film?

A10) New Mexico or Texas.
I’ll leave you with this quote …
“Be joyful, and keep your faith and your creed. Do the little things that you have seen me do and heard about. I will walk the path that our fathers have trod before us.”
Saint David.
And this tune …

Happy Saint David’s Day if you’re celebrating.   Have a good one, if you’re not.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
