Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8-7-2016

Right …

I’m feeling … slightly …

Well, slightly rushed, this morning.

Although, frankly?   I’ve not actually helped myself: getting distracted by some of Facebook’s sillier games, first thing in the morning!

The reason I’m felling rushed … ?

Is simply that it’s Friday.

Payday, in other words.

I want to make sure I can pay my bills, before I start work.

It’s a twelve until nine shift: so I won’t necessarily get a chance, afterwards.

It’s all fun … !

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* and Olga† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 8th July, 1965, saw Great Train Robber, Ronnie Biggs, escape.   From which prison?
Q2) The USS Jeanette departed: on 8th July, 1879.   On an ill-fated voyage to where?

Q4) 8th July, 1853, saw a US Navy squad led by Commodore Perry, arrive at Edo Bay.   Bay — and squad — were in which country?
Q5) Finally … 8th July, 1908, saw the birth of Nelson Rockefeller.   He was Vice-President of the USA … when who was President?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 7th July, 2006, saw the death of singer, and guitarist, Syd Barrett.   Which British band had he been a founder member of?
A1) Pink Floyd.
Q2) 76 years earlier, 7th July, 1930, saw the death or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.   Which of his characters featured in The Lost World?

A4) Ernesto Che Guevara.
Q5) Finally … 7th July, 1954, saw the first radio play of, That’s All Right.   Whose version of the song: Arthur Crudup’s, Elvis Presley’s or Carl Perkin’s … ?
A5) Elvis Presley’s.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“I won’t eat anything that has intelligent life, but I’d gladly eat a network executive or a politician.”
Marty Feldman, 8 July 1934 – 2 December 1982.
And this tune …

Have a nice day …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
