Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-8-2016

Bleugh …

I feel … well, bleugh sums it up quite nice, actually.

A somewhat iffy feeling tummy, tiredness …

And a sense of nervousness, as well.

Frankly?

I’ve an interview, today: in nearby Hornchurch.

Frankly?   Getting there’s going to be fun!

So is finding the place, even if it’s supposed to be near the station.

That doesn’t help: even WITH GPS help from my phone!

Oy veh … !

~≈¥≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Michelle*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring six out of six.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 16th August, 1977, saw the death of Elvis Presley: at his mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.   What was that home called?
Q2) The village of Lynmouth was hit by floods: on 16th August, 1952.   The village is in which English county?
Q3) More to the point: name any of the county’s neighbouring counties.
Q4) The UK formally named the Ross Dependency, as the Ross Dependency: on 16th August, 1923.   The UK handed it to New Zealand at the same time.   Where IS the Ross Dependency?

Q6) Finally … The village of Boscastle was hit by floods: on 16th August, 2004.   Boscastle is in which English county?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) Tivoli Gardens opened: on 16th August, 1843.   The amusement park is in which country?
A1) Denmark.
Q2) More to the point, Tivoli Gardens is the second oldest amusement park on Earth.   What’s the oldest?
A2) Dyrehavsbakken or Bakken, ALSO in Denmark.
Q3) At least 27 people died: on 27th August, 1998.   When a car bomb went off in which Northern Irish town?

A5) Men’s American Football.
Q6) Finally … James Dresnok defected: on 15th August, 1962.   To where?

I’ll leave you with this thought …
“You have to be willing to take those risks. … In whatever you are doing, failure is an option. But fear is not.”
James Cameron, born 16th August, 1954.
And this tune …

It has to be said, Kevin raises an interesting question, there: really … IS he?

On that rhetorical note?   I’ll wish you a good day!

*        Michelle, welcome back on board!   (Oh, did you manage to try the lutefisk, while you were in Helsinki?   It sounds … well … WORSE than a late night sheep’s eyeballs!)

†        You know, Debbi, everyone I know who writes — me, you, Debbi, and a few others, as well — are always convinced we’ve got all the corrections and revisions done.   Then we spot something, don’t we?   :D   At ANY rate … ?   Is everything OK with your blog?   Only I was trying to get through, earlier, to put a link in, and got a domain for sale sign …

‡        I know my typing’s improved over the years, Debbi: although I tend to just use four fingers!   I don’t think I’ll be this good …

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
