Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 24-11-2016: Farrokh Bulsara

Phew …

It’s the last of the days off for a while.

So, of course, today I’ve pencilled in making a lot of videos.

Oh …

And finishing off laundry!

Exciting stuff, huh?

Well …

That’s if dirty pants are you thing.

Don’t look at me.

I’m not the one with the specialised website … !

~≈Ç≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring four out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s themed questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1) 24th November, 1991, saw the death of singer song-writer, Farrokh Bulsara.   How was he better known?
Q2) For many years, Farrokh was the singer and frontman: for which regal rock band?
Q3) He and the band famously played at Live Aid: in which year of the 1980s?
Q4) DJ, Kenny Everett, said “Forget it, it’s going to be number one for centuries.”   But of which of Farrokh’s songs?
Q5) The band’s Greatest Hits album has seventeen tracks.   How many of them were written by Farrokh?
Q6) Name either of Farrokh’s two full, solo, albums.
Q7) Farrokh recorded a couple of solo singles: eventually released in 1973.   He released them under which name?
Q8) One album Farrokh and the band recorded, featured songs used in Highlander.   Which album?
Q9) Which of the band’s songs provided Farrokh with his first top ten hit?
Q10) Finally … Farrokh died in 1991, from bronchial pneumonia: complicated by which condition?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) The Convention on Cybercrime was signed in Budapest: on 23rd November, 2001.   Which UK bank reported losing £2.5 million to cybercriminals, in November of 2016?
A1) Tesco Bank.
Q2) TV series, Doctor Who, started on 23rd November, 1963.  This year saw the BBC announce that the Doctor’s new companion, Bill, would be played by whom?
A2) Pearl Mackie.
Q3) In the Russian Orthodox Church, 23rd November is the Feast Day of Alexander Nevsky.   Alexander was Prince of where: Moscow, Vladivostok or Novgorod?
A3) Novgorod.
Q4) 23rd November, 1984, saw commuters trapped at a London Underground station: after it was hit by a fire.   Which station?
A4) Oxford Circus.
Q5) Finally … 23rd November is the earliest date that Black Friday can fall.   Black Friday is the first major shopping day after which US holiday?
A5) Thanksgiving.   (I try and avoid Amazon on Black Friday.   Not because I don’t like a bargain — I do — but because I find the idea  of people in the UK marking a shopping day that marks a US holiday, objectionable.   Granted, I voted Remain in the EU Referendum … but what the hell was it about?   In part, keeping an arm’s length from foreign influence …)
As I don’t want to give away too many clues, I’m not going to leave you with a song.

But I will leave you with this thought …
“I’m possessed by love — but isn’t everybody?”
Farrokh Bulsara.
Have a good day.

*        I think the audience goes up and down, Debbi: it’s OK, though.   We know you’re joking†!   :D

†        Actually, the recent thing that got a lot of hits?   Was a tune …

#9 was a trick question! lol You're just ending having days off, while I'm just at the beginning of having 4 days off. I'm spending much of the day on the phone with family.

For those in the U.S. - Happy Thanksgiving. We had our Thanksgiving in October. I will be making turkey soup out of the frozen carcass today.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
