Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 24-12-2016: All About Eve … Again

Bloody hell … !

That was close!

I managed to leave work, last night: as the news was breaking.

That actress, Carrie Fisher, had suffered a heart attack: on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

She’s apparently stable, at the mo.

Frankly?

I know I breathed a sigh of relief when the news reader said that, last night!

Given the amount of celebrity obituaries published, this year?

I’d rather 2016 didn’t have another one!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) Eve is the first woman mentioned in the Bible.   Which Book of the Old Testament does she appear in?
Q2) Eve’s pudding is named for her.   The pudding has a sponge topping: over which fruit?
Q3) Eve’s Cone is what: an Italian ice cream, a Canadian volcano or a French pine tree?
Q4) 2008 film, Eve, was directed by whom?
Q5) That director played Evey Hammond†: in which 2005 film?
Q6) Humanity’s most recent common female ancestor is called Eve: strictly, she’s what Eve?
Q7) In Cryptography, the name, Eve, is usually given to an eaves … what?
Q8) Eve is also an episode of a well known TV series: starring Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.   Which series?
Q9) Eve is also an upcoming Mauritian TV show.   The show is a remake of which US sitcom?
Q10) Finally … The Bloodbath of B-R5RB was a 21-hour space battle: in which video game?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 23rd December, 962, saw Byzantine troops storm which Syrian city?
A1) Aleppo.   (When I wrote this question, evacuation from the city has been cancelled.   Again.   Am I the only person who laughs, cynically, when he hears the word ‘ceasefire’?)
Q2) Dagobert 2nd was murdered on 23rd December, 679: whilst hunting.   Where was he king of: Austrasia, Burgundy or the Carcassone?
A2) Austrasia.
Q3) 23rd December, 1990, saw Slovenia vote in favour of its independence.   From where?
Q4) The Queen’s Christmas Speech was leaked to The Sun: on 23rd December of which year of the 1990s?
A4) 1992.
Q5) Finally … Gunthamund became king: on 23rd December, 484 AD.   King of the whom: Goths, Vandals or Huns?
A5) Vandals.   (He was also king of the Alans.   Apparently …)
I’ll leave you with this …
“Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;”
From A Visit From Saint Nicholas, attributed to Clement Clark Moore.
And inflict Celine on you …

Have a good Eve.

*        It’s some of the music that goes with her: or with Number 6, himself.   (“The flavour of the day is strawberry.”   Always a line that sticks in my mind …)

†        As we’ve mentioned her … ?   Here’s some animation …

Shame about the news. What a terrible year! Let's hope tomorrow is a good day for all and no more bad news

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
