Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 10-2-2017

Ohhh, but that’s better …

Yep: yesterday, saw me have — wait for it — a day off!

OK, I didn’t do much more than have a stroll, do some writing, and catch some TV.

The one question I do have?

Is why on Earth — this morning — do I have I Got It From Agnes ear worming it’s way through my head?

Blowed if I know.

All I can do is pass it on!

~≈†≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) Glenn Miller was awarded the world’s first Gold record, on 10th February, 1942.   For selling how many copies: one hundred thousand, on million or ten million?
Q2) Towards the end of the Catalonia Offensive, and during the Spanish Civil War, 10th February, 1939, saw Franco’s Nationalists close the border with which country: France, Germany or Portugal?
Q3) 10th February, 1861, saw Jefferson Davies named as President of the Confederate States of America.   Name either of the CSA’s capital cities.
Q4) Iridium 33 and Kosmos 2251, collided in orbit: on 10th February, 2009.   What were they?
Q5) Finally … 10th February, 1906, saw the birth of actor, Lon Chaney, Jr.   In which film did he play Lennie Small?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Halley’s comet made its last appearance in the inner Solar System: on 9th February of which year?
A1) 1986.
Q2) When had it previously appeared: 1909, 1910 or 1911?
A2) 1910.
Q3) 9th February, 1979, saw Trevor Francis became Britain’s first footballer to be transferred for one million pounds.   When he joined which club?
Q4) A new Roman Republic was declared: on 9th February, 1849.   It was the first republic on the planet to abolish what: slavery, capital punishment or smoking in public?
Q5) Finally … A new nuclear reactor was opened in Dounreay: on 9th, 1966.   Reactor, and region, are in which country of the UK?
A5) Scotland.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“I never talk to tabloids.”
Robert Wagner, born February 10, 1930.
And this tune …

Have a good day …

*        I don’t think he will, Debbi: I don’t think he’s got the legs!   (Actually, the forest’s in Sherwood: and I think the club’s logo is based, very specifically, on this tree.)

Sorry I'm late. It's been a weird day and seemed to have done everything but out of sync. Perhaps it was she snow.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
