Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 22-6-2017: Going Underground

*Yawn* …

I have to say, I think that shift, yesterday?

Was a bit much …

I managed to grab something cheap and cheerful to eat, on the way to work.

Boy, I’m regretting that.

It caused serious havoc with my innards: for the first time in months …

I hate that when it happens.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesyeday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s themed questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1) 22nd June saw the opening of the ‘Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway’.   In which year: 1906, 1907 or 1908?
Q2) The line was known as the what tube: Hampstead, Highgate or Haringey?
Q3) The line’s most northerly station — at the time of opening — was where: Edgware, Golders Green or Archway?
Q4) That station was the terminus on the north-west branch.   The north-east branch terminated where: Edgware, Golders Green or Archway?
Q5) What — when the line opened — was the line’s most southerly station: Leicester Square, Charing Cross or Embankment?
Q6) Building the route proved controversial, as it went under where: Kensington Gardens, Hampstead Heath or Clapham Common?
Q7) An extension to the line was opened in 1926.   This meant its most southerly station was where: Embankment, Waterloo or Kennington?
Q8) The line had a station called Tottenham Court Road.   That station is now called what?
Q9) I’m Sorry, I Haven’t a Clue features a game named after one of the line’s stations.   Which station: Camden Town, Mornington Crescent or Warren Street?
Q10) Finally … the line is now part of which London Underground line: the Piccadilly Line, the Northern Line or the Hammersmith and City Line?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 21st June, 2017, is the Summer Solstice.   Where: the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere?
A1) The Northern Hemisphere.
Q2) 21st June, 2017, is the Winter Solstice.   Where: the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere?
A2) The Southern Hemisphere.
Q3) Which member of the Royal Family was born: on 21st June, 1982?
A3) Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
Q4) The Battle of Jerusalem Plank Road started: on 21st June, 1864.   During the what: American Civil War, American Revolution or War of 1812?
A4) The American Civil War.   (Jerusalem Plank sounds like a dodgy pulp hero.   You know, Jerusalem Plank, PI, Plank Investigates!: and who can forget Bring Me The Plank of Alfredo Garcia?)
Q5) Finally … Oda Nobunaga was maneuvered into suicide by his enemies: on 21st June 1582.   Japanese ritual suicide of this type is called what?
A5) Seppuku.   (Apparently, seppuku is the formal term: harakiri is the vulgar form.   Sepukku’s posh, in other words …)
Here’s a tune …

Another tune …

And Girls Aloud …

And a thought …
“Would the guy with the piano accordion please put your trousers back on.”
Anonymous Tube Driver on the Bakerloo Line.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Oh, I’ve left you a comment, Debbi!   Hopefully, it doesn’t sound too snotty!   Oh, and you can always send it over as a .pdf: I can do this†.

†        By the way, Debbi, did you know you can make music with floppy drives?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
