* Well, things have certain calmed down, Olga: but I made sure I had boiled potatoes, last night: there’s not a lot of fat in them! Plus? I can plan my meals around my working hours: it’s all good! You know, Battleship Potemkin’s another movie I’ll have to bookmark: the bit with the stairs? Is supposed to have influenced The Untouchables.
† I’ll be fine, I think, Debbi! at least I know what’s causing the problem, and can deal with it! Oh, did I show you this piece? The Doctor’s companions have been announced. The TARDIS hasn’t been that crowded since the 1980s!

I hope it all went well. Yes, I know about the scene in the Untouchables. It definitely has. The pram, is in the original too, although nobody comes to the rescue. David Mamet wrote the script for the Untouchables and I read his comments when I wrote my dissertation. He said he had not written any details in the scene at all that it was all down to the director and the people planning the action scenes. (He also wrote the Postman Always Rings Twice, the Jessica Lange and Jack Nicholson version, and they asked him about the kitchen table scene and he said he only wrote "They kiss". The rest was nothing to do with him).
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Yes, that's quite a few companions. Just like the old days. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree that the scene from The Untouchables borrows from the Potemkin Stairs scene filmed by Eisenstein.
