Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 12th April 2018

12th April, 2018.

Yes: it’s definitely Thursday.

And I’m starting to wonder what’s been happening with my YouTube account.

Seemingly?

Whenever I try an look for a video I’ve already uploaded?

YouTube tells me my channel doesn’t exist.

Lord knows what’s going on, there …

I’ll have to start … you know … asking awkward questions.

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with both scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 12th April, 1981, saw the launch of the first Space Shuttle mission.   Which Shuttle was launched: the Enterprise, Columbia or Endeavour?
Q2) Dr Jonas’s Salk’s vaccine was declared safe and effective: in 12th April, 1955.   What did it vaccinate against?
Q3) Which cosmonaut was the first person to be launched into space: on 12th April, 1961?
Q4) 12th April, 1925, saw the birth of puppeteer and animator, Oliver Postgate.   The animation firm* he formed with Peter Firmin was called what?
Q5) Finally … The Royal Ulster Constabulary received the George Cross: on 12th April of which year?

Here’s a thought …
“There are very few people on top of life, and the rest of us don’t like them very much.”
Alan Ayckbourn, born 12th April, 1939.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        It always amazes me what Postgate and Firmin could do with a bunch of Vikings, a cabbage, a lot of crows … and Nogbad the Bad …

†        I really hadn’t noticed, Olga!   But I take you’re point about the lettering.   I think we can blame whoever chose the various standards for online fonts.  Or Bill Gates.   Everything else online is his fault!

‡        That’s actually a relatively easy one to solve, Debbi.   A good tidying up helps, every so often.   And I’ve kept my old iPhoto library on an external drive for years.   You just drag and drop them over, delete the old one, then reopen iPhoto/Photos.   It’ll ask you which library you want to use … and voilà … !

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
