Q1)22nd May is World Goth Day. In which year was it first marked: 2009, 2011 or 2013?
Q2)It launched after which radio station did an article about different musical sub cultures?
Q3)This year’s World Goth Day sees events held in which Russian city?
Q4)Which punk era female singer is seen is a Goth icon: and very influential on the Goth ‘look’?
Q5)Finally … ? Gothic novels would be an influence on the Goth subculture. The first novel among many in the genre was The Castle of Otranto: written by Horace whom?
“I’m inspired by dreams and shadows, obsession and desire. By nature, I’m a dream collector and never stop working. I question people about their weirdest dreams and the strangest, most inexplicable experiences they’ve had. All this information whirls around in my mind, and new dreams emerge that form the seeds of stories and novels.”
* Quite what happened, Olga, I don’t know. I’m fairly certain I’ve done nothing different: or, at least, different to what I’d been doing for the few days before! As far as I could see, I’d ticked all the right boxes. It’s going to be one of life’s mysteries, for now. At ANY rate … it’s World Goth Day, Olga: how do you feel about wearing a lot of black … ?
† It was quite something, Debbi, wasn’t it? We don’t usually get gospel choirs and African American pastors at royal gigs, so it WAS something. Oh, did I mention it’s World Goth Day? We’re allowed to wear black, and lots of nail varnish. I hate nail varnish, I can never get it off!
‡ Lene was a screamer for Hammer, Bauhaus are still touring, there’s an argument that the Damn released the first punk single. And? Do you remember the famous incident where the Pistols sworn on TV? That’s Siouxsie getting chatted up by the presenter^ …
^ Apparently, the Pistols were called in as a replacement for the band that were supposed to be interviewed: Queen. Apparently, Freddie had a throat infection. The mild irony? The I looked that clip up on YouTube? It showed me an advert, first. The trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody, the new Queen biopic. A) I THINK the Pistols, and Siouxsie, owe Freddie a thank you. B) Somewhere, there’s an irony …
Q1) 2009 Q2) BBC Radio 6 Q3) Moscow Q4) Siouxsie Sioux Q5) Walpole Oh, yes, there are some of those mysteries and many involve computers, it seems. With the data protection thing there are so many updates that one doesn't know from one minute to the next. Black is handy to wear but I don't wear all black (I like touches of colour). It seems that all feed into each other, really, as steam punk also has plenty of touches of goth...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
