Really: that was a bank holiday weekend I’d find hard to forget … !
For starters? Well Mark Williams won his third World Championship final.
Which I’m sorry to say missed: I was working. Although I caught some of the action on Sunday.
The tenth frame … ?
Was seriously old fashioned snooker: with a lot of riveting tippy-tapping around, quite a few nerve shredding almost pots …
And some great potting from both Williams, and his opponent, John Higgins, putting in some great play.
I’m sorry I missed it.
~≈§≈~
Of course, the reason I missed it … ?
Was simply the fact I was working.
Which was relatively relaxed, actually.
Apart from one thing.
The water’s was switched off … somehow …
Which made several things awkward.
Flushing the toilet, for starters.
AND washing your hands, afterwards.
Granted, the boss managed to get a lot — a serious lot — of bottled water.
Which helped: especially when you realise that — once you’ve pooed — you need water to not only flush, but to eliminate the smell. From what I understand? The … uh … gas … from any solid waste doesn’t fill the room, as it can’t get past the water that’s above it in the u-bend.
Quite!
All I can do, right now … ?
Is hope it’s back on, when I go in, tonight.

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
* I seem to recall, Olga, that Keaton did a hell of a lot of his own stunts: and that Jackie Chan’s a huge fan of the guy … ! As for Max … ? I caught some of the music shows: those were part of the idea behind the character’s creation. But never actually saw the Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into the Future thing that preceded it!
† There’s a few rebranding exercises doing the rounds, Debbi: usually the UK government’s good at it, if something’s gone wrong! On the less contentious front? There’s an cleaner cream called Cif: that many in the UK still call Jif! Oh, almost forgot, Debbi: that’s the link to the original Max Headroom programme, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into the Future. In the UK, it was the pilot for The Max Headroom Show: kind of a music show. It’s US equivalent was Max Headroom: a science fiction show. I have to confess, I never saw Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into the Future, but caught bits of The Max Headroom Show.
‡ I know it’s not everyone’s thing: but Who’s Afraid (Of the Art of Noise) really did show off what you could do with electronic music. The Headroom stutter? Is one of the results.
Q1) 1912 Q2) Famous Players Film Company Q3) Its first film was a version of which novel? Not sure. The Loves of Queen Elizabeth that was based on a French play is listed as their first movie but I’m wondering if you mean The Prisoner of Zenda (that I have found listed as the third). Q4) Titanic Q5) A Quiet Place I saw the original that was an hour or longer (not sure) feature-length Max Headroom that explains where the name comes from and has a hilarious scene of somebody showing his bum to the screen to get diagnosed (I can't remember if I was already studying Medicine or about too, but I really enjoyed it). I guess it's the Max Headroom 20 Minutes Into the Future feature. I recommend you watch it. I saw it more than once and I remember him as a host too... I'm doing a course and survived today but I think we might finish later tomorrow, so if you don't see me here, don't be surprised. I hope the water problem is sorted...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

I remember seeing Max Headroom, but not watching any of the shows. I think it might have been on MTV. Maybe. :)
