Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4th December, 2018

4th December, 2018.

Yes: it’s officially official, again.

I’ve got an interview for today.

In Romford.

And, again?

It’s another job I’m not sure I actually want.

While it’s a customer services job — a shop worker, in other words — that’s looks weekly paid … ?

It’s only until Christmas.

Three weeks work, in other words.

Yes, I’m aware these things can lead to long term work.

At least they can, in some industries.

But … ?

Three weeks work, with no guarantee of any more is just a little … unreassuring …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) The world’s first Sunday newspaper was first published: on 4th December, 1791.   What WAS that paper?
Q2) It’s now what size: broadsheet, Berliner or Tabloid?
Q3) The first Burger King branch opened: on 4th December, 1954.   What’s the company’s name … in Australia?
Q4) The Urus SUV was named as the world’s fastest car of its type: on 4th December, 2017.   The car is made by which Italian company?
Q5) Finally … ?   The Thomas Fire started on 4th December, 2017.   It was — until recently — the largest such fire in that US state’s history.   Which US state?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 3rd December saw the birth of singer-songwriter, Ozzy Osbourne.   In which year?
A1) 1948.
Q2) Under what name?
Q3) He’s ALSO known as the Prince of … ?
A3) Darkness.   (The name’s also, occasionally, used of Marilyn Manson.   Ozzy eats bats.   Marilyn … is called Marilyn …)
Q4) Ozzy was born in the Aston area of where: Ariège, Birmingham or Texas?
A4) Birmingham.   (Birmingham’s also home to noted comedian and occasional singer, Jasper Carrott.)
Q5) Ozzy found fames as lead singer of Black Sabbath.   What was the name of the band’s seminal first album?
Q6) The band’s first successful single — in the UK, at least — came from that first album.   What was the single called?
A6) Paranoid.   (There’s a version, here).  I’ve given both Debbi and Olga 10 points: as I’ve phrased the question wrong: it should’ve read second album!
Q7) Ozzy and the band famously defined the musical style that’s called what … ?
A7) Heavy Metal.
Q8) Notoriously, and in 1982?   Ozzy bit the head of of a what … ?
A8) Bat.
Q9) Famously, Ozzy and his family appear in their own reality TV show, The Osbournes.   Which channel originally aired The Osbournes?
A9) MTV.
Q10) Finally … ?   Ozzy’s only Number 1, Changes, was A duet performed with whom?
A10) His daughter, Kelly.
Here’s a thought …
“Live mindful of death; the hour flies.”
Persius, 4 December 34AD – 24 November 62AD.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I THINK I’m going to need it, Olga‡!   Hopefully, and if I have time … ?   I’ll be able to catch that Guernica episode!   Oh … There’s not much about it on IMDb … but it looks like there’s a spin off

†        Yep, there’s only one Sting, Debbi‡.   Thank heavens for that: I think there’s only so many sonic shower scenes a body can put up with!   (Apparently, he kept the costume.   The mind boggles …)

‡        I’ve given you both ten out of ten, if that’s OK?   I worded that Paranoid question really badly!

Tiempo de confesiones seems to be like a Vlog from the point of view of Angustias about what goes on in the Ministerio. I haven't watched it. There is a lot of information about the series on RTVE, but then it will be in Spanish... People who are fans of the series call themselves the Ministéricos in Spain. Good luck with the interview! (It seems a lot of hassle for three weeks, but one never knows if it may lead to something else, and, it would always give you a chance to see if you think it's the kind of job you'd like to do or not, if you get it). ♥

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
