Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 19th March, 2019.

19th March, 2019.

I have to say, I had dinner with my family, on Sunday.

And I’m wonder what the hell that toy is … !

Possibly?   It’s best not to speculate … !

~≈§≈~

At any rate … ?

I’ve got an interview on Thursday.

For a company in Brentwood.

With my confidence being as low as it is, I’m not expecting to get very far.

But, as in all these things?

We’ll have to see.

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Badwolf on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 19th March is Minna Canth Day, in Finland.   The day marks Canth’s birth.   And is used to mark what: poverty, justice, or equality?
Q2) Which US state legalised gambling: on 19th March, 1931?
Q3) A study was published on 19th March, 1964: that proposed the building of three new UK towns.   Name one of the towns built as a result.
Q4) Whose eponymous first album was released: on 19th March, 1962?
Q5) Finally … ?   19th march, 1921, saw the birth of which comedy magician?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 18th March is, in western churches, the earliest date Holy Wednesday — the day before Maundy Thursday — can fall.   What’s the latest date Holy Wednesday can fall?
A1) 21st April.
Q2) The Torrey Canyon ran aground: on 18th March, 1967.   What was it carrying?
A2) Oil.
Q3) The UK’s Attorney General halted an obscenity trial, on 18th March, 1982: against the play, Romans in Britain.   Who brought the charges … ?
Q4) The world’s first spacewalk — or extra vehicular activity — was performed by cosmonaut, Alexey Leonov, on 18th March, 1965.   What was the name of Alexey’s ship … ?
A4) Voskhod 2.
Q5) Finally … ?   18th March, 1846, saw the birth of Native American leader, Kicking Bear.   He was a member of which tribe?
A5) The Oglala Lakota.   He was also a leader of the  Miniconjou war band.  Turns out he was a cousin of Crazy Horse.   (I’m told the term Sioux is seen as vaguely derogatory.)
Here’s a thought …
“I thought there was too much emphasis on sex and violence. It has an insidious and powerful influence on children. Would you like your son to grow up like James Bond? Since I hold these views strongly as an individual and parent I didn’t see how I could contribute to the very things to which I objected.”
Patrick McGoohan (19 March 1928 – 13 January 2009.)
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Morning, again, Badwolf!

†        I’m with you there, Debbi.   I think I need a cleaner.   Or, possibly, a flamethrower …

  2. Heh heh! I hear that! :)

Nice quote from McGoohan. Certainly, the Bond books are just a tad less ... racy (?) over-the-top (?) than the movies. At least, Casino Royale starts out very realistic. To the extent beating a villain at cards in a casino for an espionage agency can be realistic. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
