Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — Convicted

22nd May, 2019.

Phone-calls …

Phone-calls, phone-calls, phone-calls …

Phone-calls!

I have to admit, I missed an appointment with my work coach, last week: missing an alarm, would you believe!

In my defence?

The minute I realised I’d missed it, I phoned the relevant body, and immediately rearranged it for as early as possible.

I have still, unfortunately, got myself sanctioned: and have an upcoming financial penalty.

Not something I want, obviously.

Hence my phone calls, later, today.

I’m going to ask for what’s called a Mandatory Reconsideration: an appeal, in other words.

After all, it’s the only one I’ve missed in the past few years: which might help.

It’s going to cause financial hardship: which I don’t think will make a good impression.

The fact I managed to re-arrange the meeting, as soon as possible?   May be one point that goes in my favour.

As one quick piece of extra news?

You’ve worked out I’m a fan of some TV shows.

I’ve been glued to El Ministerio del Tiempo for a while: indeed, was watching an episode, last night.

It looks like Lola’s back!

Ahem … !

The other time travel show I’ve been watching: for much of my life?

Is Dr Who.

There’s been an announcement about the upcoming twelfth series.

It looks like the Judoon are back … … … … …

With some interestingly entertaining hairdos …

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

From Pt One of The Byford Report into the Yorkshire Ripper Case.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Morning, Anne: did you see the tweet about the Judoon go past?

†        I was going for ironic, there, Olga: it was a scam call.   And wouldn’t you know it?   I had three of them, yesterday … !   (Oh, have they tweaked El Ministerio del Tiempo’s theme tune?   It sounds a little different …)

‡        Pleasure, every time, Debbi!   Oh, the Judoon are back …

No didn't see the tweet, but talking of tweets, I don't think the myname tag in your posts is working as I'm not getting them, it wasn't till I went to your profile to click on the link for quiz, that I noticed

  2. Q1) 1981
    Q2) Thirty
    Q3) HMP Parkhurst
Q4) Broadmoor (It’s the only high secure hospital in England I haven’t visited. I worked at Rampton for a few months (once a week) and visited Ashworth quite a few times to assess patients).
    Q5) HMP Frankland
Oh, I see. They were always offering upgrades, normally towards the end of the contract, to make sure you stayed with them, although recently it used to be all done through e-mail (in my case I had my phone, both mobile and fixed with them anyway).
I hope you sort out the penalty thing. I am sure some people never turn up... (Not sure about the music. There tended to be long gaps between my managing to catch up on the series)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
