Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23-6-2019: Sonic The Hedgehog

23rd June, 2019.

You know, I has very little in the way of cash, at the moment.

Very little.

So, when I spend some?

I expect the goods to work, to be of the best quality for the price … and to turn up on time.

I was due a pair of jogging bottoms, yesterday.

By 8.

Did they turn up?

Did they, heck … !

~≈§≈~

One thing I did hear, yesterday?

Was an article on the Today programme, that introduced us to a champ called Andrew Ashe.

Mr Ashe’s company has won a prestigious prize for for a tablet, running open source software, that kids with little computer literacy could play with.

And learn with.

As I understood it from that piece?

They went with the open source, independent, operating system: as they didn’t want those kids habits being tracked by the likes of Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and whoever else.

Good for them!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Debbi, † and Badwolf‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 23rd June saw Sonic the Hedgehog released to the US.   In which year?
Q2) It was on what — in the States — was called the Sega Genesis.   What was the Genesis called in Europe?
Q3) In Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic had to collect gold … what?
Q4) If Sonic gets one hundred of those objects,  he can access a secret area: where can possibly collect a Chaos … what?
Q5) If Sonic gets one hundred of those objects, he earns an extra … what … ?
Q6) How many lives does Sonic start the game with: two, three or four?
Q7) Sonic starts the game in which Zone?
Q8) When the player presses Down and an A, B or C button, sonic launches a … what?
Q9) The follow up game, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, sees Sonic gain a sidekick: a fox called Miles Prower.   Miles is better known how?
Q10) Finally … ?   Who’s Sonic’s archenemy?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 22nd June, 1974, saw the birth of the late MP, Jo Cox.   Which party did she represent?
A1) Labour.
Q2) Which constituency did she represent?
Q3) She was killed by far-right extremist, Thomas Mair, during a British referendum to leave what?
A3) The European Union, or EU.
Q4) As a sentence?   Her killer got what’s called a whole life … what?
A4) Whole life order, or tariff.
Q5) Finally … ?   Jo Cox was killed in which year?
A5) 2016: the year of the referendum.
Here’s a thought …
“Ah, Yeah! This is happenin’!”
Sonic the Hedgehog, in Sonic Adventure.
And a tune or two …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        What can I tell you, Olga?   Some people, eh?   At ANY rate, Your mother’s sounds like mine: there’s always something to do.   (Or complain about, in Mum’s case!)

†        Interesting read, there, as ever, Debbi!   It still tickles me!   After all, how hard can it be to get these things right?

‡        It sounds like it was a busy one, Anne!   The mind boggles!   😃

We'll have to make our mothers meet at some point, although unless your mother speaks Spanish, my mother's English is quite limited (I'm working on it...)

  3. The last time I played video games on a regular basis was back in the 80s at one of arcades! :)

Actually, I reviewed an online video game. A Nancy Drew game, which was pretty cool. So, that's actually the last one I played. But I'm not into video games, generally.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
