Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 12-12-2019: General Election 2019

12th December, 2019.

Just so you know?   I’m jobhunting.

And?

My Job Centre’s put me on a course to try and help improve my interview skills: along side a few other things.

Yesterday, though?

I couldn’t get to the course: because the buses didn’t turn up!

There was literally no sign of them: going up or going down hill.

Why?

I don’t know.

But I’d like to know why: it sounds like I have a lot of catching up to do as a result.

~≈¥≈~

Right …

It’s General Election Day.

Yay …

I’m planning to try and vote on my way to the course, today.

To vote Green.
  1. I’ve never voted Tory in my life and don’t plan to, today.
  2. Labour?   Around here is a wasted vote.
  3. Liberal Democrat?   I’ve not voted for them since they betrayed their voters by joining the coalition in 2010.   I expect them to be equally treacherous, again.

So, this year?

It’s Green … or spoil my vote.

The parties available give me no other choice.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Oh, I don’t know, Olga: you should see what Santa’s getting my nephew!   The item’s comparatively cheap.   The games for it are … well, the big ones are stupid money!   I saw the price of the football game he wants: it’s about a third of the price of the present!   (To be fair to Apple?   The Mac Pro’s aimed at anyone who’s going to be editing and rendering 8k video: Disney, Warner Brothers, Sony, whoever.   When you’re spending £100 million on making a movie, £48000 is cheap.   It’s aimed at academic circles, as well: anyone that’s doing large scaling modelling.)

†        I know, Debbi: it’s always amazed me what we end up finding out!   It’s para-meta-trans-media-thingummy-wosname!   Ummm … (Sorry about the length, I’ve been getting arty …!   Oh, New Year’s Eve is a long one!)

Yes, there's a lot of money to be made from the games, so they have a vested interest in being competitive with the consoles (or whatever they are called). They showed a documentary about cinemas here and they were talking about the new digital projectors, that, of course, each costs about five times the price of the old ones, and now they are useless. The owner of this big chain of cinemas was saying he would happily give them away for free, if whomever came and took them away...
I'm not sure what to wish for the elections... Here they're still battling it over. Gosh! Anyway, I hope at least the bus will turn up today and you will be able to catch up.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
