Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Trevor‡, Debbi^ and Edithª putting in their answers: with Olga, Debbi and Trevor scoring ten out of ten, Mum on nine and Edith on six.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
“The International Court of Justice established by the Charter of the United Nations as the principal judicial organ of the United Nations shall be constituted and shall function in accordance with the provisions of the present Statute.”
From the Statute of the International Court of Justice, the court’s founding document.
* Good luck with that, Olga: I hope it helps! Did I mention I, Mum, and my sisters went out for a meal, last night, at a little place in Chelmsford? The burgers were nice … and the sunset on the way home, were amazing!
† Hello, Mum! (What was that pub-restaurant called, the Fox and Goose?)
‡ We WERE planning on sending out a search party, Trevor! Actually? I think Edith may have put in a Friend request, on FB. Now … where do I know Ian Carmichael from … ?
(Oh … you MIGHT be able to stream from your phone to a smart TV. If you get a Chromecast dongle, you’ll be able to stream your phone to that: Mum’s been using hers, since I got one for the family a couple Christmas ago … )
^ Nick and Nora Charles, Debbi? I’m going to have to look them up. Was there a US version of the UK game show? The one that ended in the 1990s? The Wikipedia entry doesn’t say … ! Oh, wait … this Nick and Nora … ?! Now, where did Sidney Sheldon get Hart to Hart … ?
ª I have a confession, Edith: I loved them! I’ve had their first album for years! Oh, I don’t know if you’ve seen the trailer for Army of the Dead — I don’t know if it would be up your street — but it uses Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler as background music: I can’t hear a country tune without thinking “Edith’ll like that!” I hope you do, any way.

I have no need of streaming services from my phone. My TV is connected to my Broadband via my TalkTalk TV box , the electric circuitry of my house and the always on Modem. I have all the play-back systems on the box and I take some bits of Sky via TalkTalk and so can watch soccer matches. As part of my Amazon Prime account I am able to play Amazon programs on the telly. I have never ben a great movie fan but enjoy good documentaries. If I opened an account I could use Net-flicks there too.
Q5) The World Court Lovely photo! I catch your pics occasionally on Instagram. It's my mother's birthday next week (this coming Wednesday) and mine is coming up soon as well, so I'm wondering about going out for a meal somewhere, although she's only having her second dose of the vaccine this week (yes, it's a birthday present), and we've invited my cousin and his little daughter to come home for a meal... We shall see. (Oh, about the bookshelf... I do have one in my room, although the whole house is full of books, even though recently most of my books are ebooks), but the room is so small that it's impossible to take a reasonable picture of it. But, I can tell you my Baby Yoda is guarding it.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
Oh, wait, Busman’s Honeymoon … !
ReplyDeleteDebbi, I swear, I’ll learn to read … !

Hi Paul. I do like country music. I enjoy the depth of the songs. I am glad that you L like Frankie Goes to Hollywood so much.
