I’m running out of potatoes! And will have to buy some.
I’m just hoping the vegetable stall in Brentwood High Street’s open.
The size of their baking spuds is legendary.

You’ve realised I’m a fan of Dune: the 1965 Frank Herbert novel.
And looking forward to the upcoming Denis Villeneuve version.
Here’s the trailer …
One thing that bothered me? Is simply that the trailer reveals some of the dialogue of the film: little of which seems to match the dialogue of the original novel.
Oh, I grant, Gurney (Josh Brolin) hates the Harkonnens as much as he does in the novel: but the featured speech isn’t in the novel.
Duncan (Jason Momoa) seems as capable as he does in novel: but, again, his dialogue — in the trailer — doesn’t necessarily match what’s in the book.
That whole “My planet is so beautiful,” speech from Chani (Zendaya) isn’t there, either!
So — stickler for authenticity that I am? — I’m a touch concerned.
But something occurred to me, yesterday.
The dialogue in David Lynch’s 1984 version is — I think — a touch closer to the novel. It’s more authentic, if you will*.
The question that occurred to me, yesterday?
Was simply this.
“What if the dialogue differences between the book and the 2021 version is where the film’s producers … are trying to stay out of trouble? Specifically, copyright trouble?”
Q1) 26th July, 2020, saw the death of actress, Olivia de Havilland. She played Maid Marian in The Adventures of Robin Hood. Who played Robin Hood in The Adventures of Robin Hood: Cary Grant, Errol Flynn or Clark Gable?
Q5) Finally … ? Actress, Kate Beckinsale, was born on 26th July, 1973. Her farther, Richard Beckinsale, played Lennie Godber, opposite Ronnie Barker. In which series: Rising Damp, Bloomers or Porridge?
* Apart from the cat fondling scene. The cat fondling scene is definitely uncanonical … !
†Don’t mention that last one to Mum, Trevor, I’ll never hear the last of it … ! (I’ve had Excession, for years: it’s a favourite.)
‡Hello, Mum!
^That they are, Debbi: I’ve been meaning to read both for years. Apparently, Fleming named the villain after an architect called Ernő Goldfinger: who threatened to sue.

Well my weekly Tesco's delivery which I have scheduled for every Tuesday between 10.00 and 14.00 arrived at 10.03. So I had every thing packed away by 10.15. I now have plenty of Celery, Potatoes, tomatoes bacon sausages and many other food items.
I think my favourite Ian M Banks book is “Look to Windward “.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
