Q1) 13th August is International Left Hander’s Day. Sinister is the word for left. In which language: Mandarin, Latin or Greek?

* Oh, you’re right, Olga: she’s spot on! The series immediately following Nicholas Parson’s death, they had a series of guest presenters: including her, and Gyles Brandreth. She was perfect!
And yes, Mayall died in 2014. I was deeply saddened. The Young Ones, and Saturday Live, were the comedy series, growing up: far more important, in a sense, than Monty Python.
† Hello, Mum!
‡ Um! Sorry, Debbi! The next one’s on the 24th … ! (Oh … the BBC’s re-releasing The Web of Fear on the 16th: with an animated version of the missing episode. Oh … and they’ve done an animated version of The Evil of the Daleks: the missing story was the first appearance of the Dalek Emperor and Deborah Watling as Victoria.)
Q5) The Far Side Thanks for the link. My cousin John introduced me to the Young Ones, that although were not my style (I was probably a bit too old for them already at the time), I appreciated Rik's performance. Thinking about it later, 2014 was a complicated year for me, as I left my job and my father had been diagnosed with cancer and got quickly unwell, so I spent a lot of time coming and going from Spain, and it's quite likely that he might have died while I was away and didn't catch the news.

I missed yesterday quiz for 2 reasons. 1 it was 10 questions 2 I was recovering from seeing the first 2 episodes of “The Watch”.
The Telegraph TV critic gave it a good caning. His headline was “How to make a stinker from the finest of materials”.
I thought that it is so bad that it will become a cult viewing series. So many strange things to get one’s head round. Lord Havelock Vetinari the Lord Patrician of the city being played by a woman. Lady Sybil Ramkin was younger and slimmer than one imagines her in the books. She is almost a femme fatale.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
