No: I’ve got the word popty ping, the alleged Welsh word for microwave, floating through my head.
Why?
I have no idea!

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Mum†, Olga‡ and Debbi^ and putting in their answers: with Trevor, Olga And Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
‡ It sounds like you need a holiday from the holiday, Olga … ! But at least you got something sorted out! Talking of reading … ? I’m just finishing Homage to Catalonia: there’s something quotable in every chapter!
^ That’s the chap, Debbi: Guinness is supposed to have based his version on Sir Maurice Oldfield, the former head of MI6. Oh, did you know Patrick Stewart played Karla, Smiley’s Soviet arch-enemy, in the BBC version of Smiley’s People? He only did it so he could work with Guinness.
Q5) A car Yes, you've got it right. I will try and take it a bit easier for a bit (the last week of August, if there are no changes due to the usual suspect, the annual festivities in the neighbourhood (la festa major) will be taking place, and the radio not only reports on it but also organises quite a few events, so things should be busy (even if not quite as busy as usual), so I'll better try to get a few things done and a bit of rest before then. I love the Welsh word for microwave (it is very descriptive)! And enjoy your day with Jude!

Welcome back Olga
I am sat with the big window open and am hearing the muffled sound of a pneumatic drill. Not as loud as the old drills. May take a wander later to watch the men at work.
Can be entertaining watching other people work.
I see that you missed the person who died in her Brentwood home back in 1962 :- Marilyn Monroe.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
