The first time I went to the theatre was to the then named Civil Theatre in Scunthorpe. It is now called the Plowright Theatre. I was in the first form (1959/60) at John Leggott Grammar school.
ReplyDeleteBecause we were studying a play by a little known playwright from Stratford on Avon and it was being performed at the Civic theatre the whole first form went along to see it.
It was Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Certainly a good play for one’s first theatre visit.
I'm a big fan of good old Willy Shakespeare. :)
ReplyDeleteEven in high school, I liked his stories. It's amazing what you can pick up, even if it's written in Old English. :)
