Thanks, Paul. I suspect anything official isn’t going to be working well in France at the moment, and with Ramadan on in Egypt, well, much of the same. I’ll report back when I’m back.
I will share more about the award ceremony when I’m back, but I think most of the posts and pics will go up today or later. Just in case, the district, the local government section handing out the awards, have the video posted on their website, and also on YouTube.

The award for innovation, which is the one the news portal run by the Sants 3 Ràdio won, comes up around minute 26:30 or so. You can see my fingers on the tablet at the beginning of the video (it seems they edited it as they saw fit), and then a few of us come up on stage. Pau is the MC (the blond guy with the glasses). The girl who talks briefly is Mireia, and she looks after the visual side of things (design, pictures, etc). She is also the director’s partner. And the man who talks after her is the director, Oleguer. You’ll recognise me, so I don’t need to tell you who I am, and I didn’t talk.
You might enjoy the songs as well. They come up around 50:30. The two girls have been singing with the church choir (the church is the one whose bell tower the radio station lives in) since they were kids. They don’t do only church hymns, but other kinds of music as well.

Ah, the building where the awards’ ceremony took place is stunning, although I’m not sure how much of it you can see on the video, but there are glass stained windows, and very fancy wrought-iron lamps and banisters...
That’s a thought, Debbi: did you hear about the tragic events in Nashville? I can’t help but think the USA really needs to do something about guns!

Every time I turn around, there's a shooting somewhere. It's ridiculous. It makes me sick, frankly.
ReplyDeleteI also don't think the Second Amendment gives every single U.S. citizen the absolute right to carry a gun. If you look at the actual text, one can interpret it quite differently than it has been.
