Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29-9-2023 — Michaelmas.

And … ?

If you recall, in yesterday’s Teaser, I said my boiler had been playing up … ?

I’ve officially made the phone call: and got a repair visit arranged for Monday.

Here’s hoping it’s a quick visit!

From the Wikipedia entry on Michaelmas.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

†        Brigitte Bardot was his girlfriend, Olga¶?   I’ll take that with a pinch of salt, I think!

Thankfully, Debbi, I think Trevor missed that one!
I do know there’s at least one episode of Sapphire and Steel where Ms Lumley had to keep her head very still: so the show’s makers could chromakey in an effect that made her eyes glow.   I think that’s in one of the later episodes.
And, in the last episode of adventure two — the one in the railway station — she had to wear all-black contact lenses.   If I’ve understood it, the lenses back then would have been very uncomfortable.

Pointless trivia, Olga: dad jokes are known as wood foot jokes in Finland.

Oh, according to him, my father had a collection of famous girlfriends. Apart from Brigitte, he decided Farrah Fawcett was also his girlfriend. Not sure what Lee Majors would have thought about it at the time...
I hope the problem with the heating is nothing serious and they can sort it out quickly. Here it is still quite warm, and we don't have central heating, but I do remember what it was like there...

Speaking of schools, we've been watching Sex Education. Are colleges there like high schools here? And what are A-levels? Are they like our SATs?

    Just curious, as always. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
