Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 20-10-2024 — Madam Vice-President.

20th October, 2024: Madam Vice-president.

It’s officially official: it’s not just Evri that get deliveries wrong!

I was due a delivery, yesterday: from Amazon.

Some new bedsheets, and jogging bottoms, so you know.

What I got … ?

Was some shampoo, and toothbrushes.

As it turned out, the driver had delivered my package to a flat over the road: and their package to me.

I’m thankful the couple were in: as it meant I could wonder over and swap packages.

But?

You can bet I sent Jeff Bezos an email!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, MumDebbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        20th October, 1964, saw the birth of Kamala Harris.   At the time of publication, she holds which US government post: President, Vice President or Attorney General?

Q2)        She’s currently running for which US government post: President, Vice President or Attorney General?

Q3)        She’s running for which US party: Democrat or Republican?

Q4)        Who — in this election — is her running mate: Al Gore, JD Vance or Tim Walz?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Kamala’s campaign is supported by the current US president.   Who is he: Joe Biden, Donald Trump or Barack Obama?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        19th October saw the start of the First Battle of Ypres.   In which year: 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917 or 1918?
A1)        1914.

Q2)        During which war?
A2)        World War One.

Q3)        Ypres is in which European country?
A3)        Belgium.

Q4)        The British forces were allied with forces from France and Belgium.   Which country were they fighting?
A4)        Germany.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Battle ended on the 22nd of which month: October, November or December?
A5)        November.
Here’s a thought …
“We are here because the American Dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line like never before.”
Kamala Harris.
And a party political broadcast …

.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I certainly hope so, Olga!   I had to send an email, yesterday: Jeff Bezos is possibly sick of me!   But what with one thing and another … ?   I’ve managed to find New Boots and Panties, the Ian Dury album, in amongst the collection.

        Hello, Mum!

        The puns are afoot, Debbi … … … !
(I know what you mean, Debbi: I need a mop!)

They normally send an e-mail asking how the delivery went, so that's another chance to complain. Although, judging by what I've read about the people who do the deliveries, I'm not surprised they make mistakes. Their working conditions aren't the best.
I agree with your Mum, although, who knows?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
